Sandy Wainright

Elsie Sanders was born November 20, 1928 in South Haven, Michigan to her late father, Clyde Sanders of Missouri, and late mother, Tiflis Drake Sanders of Alabama. Sandy was married to W.C. Wainright, Jr. on January 6, 1951. She worked at FSU as a financial aid counselor for 18 years. She was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist church, where she was in the choir, taught GA’s, worked with the flower ministry, and involved in a bible study group that was together for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing cards.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Carla Dee Wainright; her grandsons, Justin (Rachel) and Hunter (Samatha); and 6 great grandchildren, Jace, Hayes, Zade, Emma, Naomi, and Douglas. Sandy was loved by everyone. She loved Jesus and had joy in her heart, and it showed on her sweet smile.

A visitation for Sandy will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Thomasville Road Baptist Church, 3131 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
