Sara Nelida Santisi, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by the love she poured so freely into the world. Born on August 18, 1941, in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, Sara carried with her a warmth and strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Sara lived a life defined by love — quiet, constant, and unconditional. She gave of herself with compassion and tenderness, never asking for anything in return. To her family, she was the steady heart at the center of every gathering, every celebration, and every difficult moment.
She is survived by her son, Juan, and her daughter, Mirtha; her daughter-in-law, Marisa; and her beloved grandchildren, Stefan (21), Nicolas (19), Mia (12), and Luna (10), who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her cherished brothers, Roger and Juan Carlos, in her native Argentina.
Sara found joy in simple, beautiful things — a good book, the rhythm of knitting, and above all, the art of cooking. Her kitchen was a place of magic and comfort, where she created meals that nourished not only the body but the soul. Her Swiss chard and zucchini quiches, empanadas, chocolate pecan pie, and homemade pasta were more than recipes; they were acts of love. Sundays were her favorite — a pot simmering on the stove, her NFL team on the TV, a mate or a glass of wine in hand, and laughter filling the room.
Her home was a sanctuary of welcome, where no one ever left hungry or unheard. Sara’s heart of gold, her bright, contagious laugh, and her fierce devotion to her family shaped the lives of all who had the privilege of loving her. She taught by example — through loyalty, resilience, and a quiet grit that carried her through life’s trials.
Sara will be remembered not only for what she did, but for who she was: a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love left an imprint that time cannot erase. Her spirit lives on in the traditions she created, the recipes she perfected, and the values she passed down.
A celebration of her life will be held at Highland Oaks Park located at 20300 NE 24th Ave, Miami 33180 on Saturday November 29, 2025 from 2-5 pm at Recreation Room 1.
