

Teman was born in Climax, Ga. on December 20, 1932 to Teman Gene Gandy, Sr and Minta Hatchett Gandy.
During his early childhood, the family moved between Climax, Jakin, Blakely, finally returning to Tallahassee where he resided for the remainder of his life.
Teman grew up in a loving, hard working, community oriented Christian household. After graduating from Leon High School, and serving with the U.S. Army in the Korea War, Teman joined with his father in creating T.G. Gandy & Sons Construction Firm. Through Teman’s guiding hands, along with his brother Jay, this firm became well known throughout Tallahassee for their high quality construction of churches, commercial, educational, and residential buildings.
Teman was widely known an avid fisherman and hunter, who enjoyed teaching generations to fish, and welcoming his family and friends down to his place on the Ochlockonee River, where a simple sign greeted all to his “Paradise”.
Teman’s surviving family members include his sweet lovely wife of 61yrs, Mary Davison Gandy, originally from Chicago Il, his sister, Laura Susan Gandy Whitfield, of Tifton Ga, and his brother and sister-in-law Jared Lafayette Gandy Sr, and Bonnie Thomas Gandy of Tallahassee, Fl.
Surviving nieces, and nephews include Amanda S. Carmichael, Julia C. Whitfield, Dr. Sara L. Gandy, Miles G. Whitfield, and Jared L. Gandy Jr. along with numerous great nieces and nephews Hunter B Carmichael, Haley R Carmichael, Heath B. Carmichael, J. Hunter Small, and Bonnie E. Small.
A visitation for Teman will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312. A burial with military honors will occur Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery, Tallahassee, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
