Thomas A. Roberts, born October 14, 1958, in Bay Shore, Long Island, passed away peacefully at his home in Tallahassee, FL. Tom was a deeply caring man whose warmth, generosity, and outgoing spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Tom retired from a successful career as an operations manager in the manufacturing field, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, leadership, and dedication. Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures; cheering on the New York Yankees, tending to his beloved garden in South Salem, visiting Vermont, spending time with loved ones, and making people laugh with his easygoing personality and witty nature.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Lauren Roberts and Kristen Roberts; his longtime partner of 26 years, Lorraine Ghazarian; and his brothers and sisters, all of whom will continue to carry his memory forward with love and pride.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Guy M. Roberts and Eileen Roberts, as well as his dear friends Matthew Ranftle and Doug Findlay, whose friendships meant so much to him throughout his life.
Those who knew Tom will remember him as someone who was reliable, compassionate, generous, and genuine. He had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, and his absence will be deeply felt by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tom’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity close to his heart.
“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.
& until we meet again in heaven,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
