Toshiko was born May 2, 1930 to Akiro and Rinko Inada in Tokyo, Japan. At the age of 24, she met and fell in love with a gentleman by the name of William Nathaniel Hand (deceased), an America solider who was stationed in Tokyo. They married January of 1955 and started a beautiful life together.
After marriage, Toshiko moved to the United States with her husband and started a family. Toshiko raised their four daughters in Anchorage, Alaska, where they lived for 15 years. She took them faithfully to Grace Baptist Church where they learned of salvation through believing in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Toshiko gave her life to Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in 1968.
In 1977 the Hand family moved to Colorado Springs. Toshiko was a member of the South Side Bible Chapel where she led the Japanese Ladies Bible Studies group for over 30 years. She also translated English Bible lessons to Japanese so that others could share in the Gospel of Christ.
Toshiko moved to Sneads, Florida in 2014 where she attended Victory Baptist Church.
Toshiko is survived by her four daughters, Dorothy Fowler of Sacramento, California; Barbara Butler (Bruce) of Sneads, Florida; Diana Frambach (Raymond) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Gayle Davis (Corey) of Atlanta, Georgia; her brother, Hideo Inada of Tokyo, Japan; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Pam Foster for her loving care for Toshiko in her final days and also to the Victory Baptist Church family for their love and support.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm Eastern Time. Dr. David Pipping will officiate.
