

William “Bill” Bowden, 75, of Quincy died at his home Thursday (4/23). A native of Taunton, Mass he grew up in Clinton, NC and moved to Tallahassee from Columbia Maryland in 1979 and then Quincy, FL in 2001. Bill was a person who loved his family most of all. He enjoyed the outdoors and his dogs and would spend as much time as he could on his property. He graduated from Methodist University majoring in history. He served in the US Air Force and retired from the State of Florida Department of Corrections in 2003. Bill was a Florida State fan and an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Susan; son: Garvin B. Bowden (Rachel) and their children: Wilhelmina and Brooks of Quincy; daughter: Jill B. Hogan (Nate) and their children: Garrett and Jackson of Sopchoppy, FL; and an extended family and friends.
Bill’s life will be celebrated on Sunday (4/26) at Culley’s MeadowWood Chapel, 700 Timberlane Rd. Viewing will begin at 2:00 pm with a celebration of life beginning at 3:00 pm.
