A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Fellowship Presbyterian Church.
Tucker was a teacher, having taught in Mississippi and Texas public schools. He taught advanced chemistry and physics and ESE students. He made Tallahassee his home in 1992. An avid sportsman, he played tennis and football at Mississippi College. He was a bicyclist and was passionate about playing golf.
Tucker is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jeannie Dixon; four sons: Will IV (Susan), John (Rene), David (Rhonda), and Bobby; his daughter, Mary Sanders (Ryan); his parents, William Tucker Dixon Jr. and Eloise Smith Dixon of Vaughn, Mississippi; a brother, Ivey Boyd Dixon (Veronica); two sisters, Bettie Knight (Charles) and Doris Dixon; and the joy of his life, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
