

Willie was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved his Lord, church, family and many friends. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from the City of Tallahassee, Arvah Hopkins Power Plant. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He also loved farming with his tractor.
He is survived by a daughter, Frances Buckner of Monticello, FL; 3 grandchildren Maryanne Nichols (Ryan) of Monticello, FL, Steven Buckner (Cierra) of Tallahassee, FL, Jeremy Buckner (Ellie); 7 great-grandchildren Elijah, Archer, Jasper and Wyatt Nichols; Dahlia and Lucian Buckner; Amalie Buckner; two sisters Jadon (Lawson) Gerrell and Reta (John) Rakestraw of Tallahassee; brother Preston (Betty) Grantham of Crawfordville and a host of nieces, nephews and many good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Frances Story, a son, Willie Jr., and brother Clarence Story.
His home-going celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 24th at Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m Thursday, March 23rd, at Culley's Riggins Road Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 2351 Mahan Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32305; or Covenant Hospice, Capital Circle NE, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
