
Professor Zoreh Moshir-Majidi passed away, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida.
The family, friends and collegues will meet to say their final good byes to Zoher at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2012 at MeadowWood Memorial Park with a reception to follow in the MeadowWood Room. To honor Zoreh's wishes, there will be no futher memorial services.
Dr. Moshir taught for 30years at the FSU\FAMU College of Engineering. During the same 30 years, she also taught at Tallahassee Community College where she served as a professor and Chair of the Engineering and Technology Department. She established this Department at T.C.C. through years of tireless hours of hard work. She was dedicated to her students, engineering education and her collogues. She always updated her curriculum based on the latest developments of Enginerring materials and metals. Dr. Moshir worked hard to establish an articulation with several colleges and universities to ensure a smooth transition for the students. She worked hard to locate jobs for the students and also provided training for state employees upon their records. She not only helped find jobs but also stayed in contact with them to make sure everything went well. Her unique teaching method included group and individual teaching; the students were truly involved with their learning process.
Survivors include her husband, Ali Majidi of Tallahassee: two sons, Bay Majidi and Bruce Majidi of Tallahassee; mother, Raziah Damavandi-Moshir, sister, Shina Moshir; brothers, Ali Moshir and Majid Moshir and his wife Susan of North Carolina; also many other uncles, aunts, and extended family in California and other states.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
