Collin St. George Errol Eccleston was born on October 15, 1981 at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was the baby of the family, the third child, and third son born to Melton Eccleston and Yvonne Mitchell-Eccleston.
Collin resided in Boca Raton with his family and then moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He attended Broward Christian School, Castle Hill Elementary and Nova Middle School. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale Christian School. Gifted in the Arts, Collin attended Fort Lauderdale Art Institute. He was a very good artist.
Collin was a very brilliant student and a great problem solver. His first love was Mathematics, the area in which he excelled the most. He also excelled in the area of basketball and played on the High School Varsity basketball teams. From a very early age Collin showed signs of congeniality. He had a very pleasant disposition, was outgoing, and as many have said: “He would light up any room he entered; he was engaging; he had a way of putting people at ease; he talked easily with everyone; no one was a stranger to him; he made people feel comfortable around him; he thoroughly enjoyed having fun with his friends; he was cool; he was a charming young man who loved to dance.”
Collin worked as a Customer Service Representative until his death in December 2019. When he first went in for one of his interviews, it is said that before he opened his mouth, the interviewer had already decided he would get the job. It was all about the way he entered the room with a positive, engaging, respectful attitude, a disarming and winning smile. His attitude and very good work ethics always won him the jobs for which he applied.
In early December, he complained about persistent pain in his body. After a very short illness and stint in the hospital, two months after his 38th birthday, Collin departed this life on December 18, 2019.
Collin loved his family dearly: his mother, who rushed him to the hospital when observing him in excruciating pain and sat by his bedside every day while he was there; his father, for whom he had a special love; his two older brothers, Ray and Andre, who were very dear to him.
Collin will be missed by his mother, Yvonne Mitchell; father, Melton Eccleston; brothers: Ray Eccleston and Andre Eccleston; nieces: Raeanne Eccleston and Shaienne Duckworth; Uncles: Neville Eccleston and Ernest Eccleston; Aunts: Ivy Eccleston and Valda Bromfield; numerous cousins; godparents: Neville and Lucy Gombs; god-brother: Marcus Gombs; godsister: Asley Gombs; numerous friends.
Collin will be missed but it is not goodbye, only goodnight, for we shall meet him in the morning.
