Earline S. Bowman

Earline was born on March 11, 1937, to the late Earl and Minnie Newby in Norfolk, VA.

Earline spent a good part of her childhood in Norfolk, VA. She grew up in Norfolk with a young handsome family friend named Paul Lawrence Dunbar Bowman. They began to date and fell in love and married on Nov 12, 1953. Six children came from their union.

Earline's love for the Arts was clearly evident because she attended the High School of Performing Arts in New York; majoring in Music, Dance and Acting. However, she would always proudly tell us that her greatest accomplishment was the birth of her six children. Earline also had an angelic voice and she loved to sing for her family and friends.

Earline and Paul were contacted by Jehovah's Witnesses through the door-to-door Ministry. They continued their regular bible studies and eventually dedicated their lives to Jehovah and got baptized together on August 24, 1957, in Baltimore, MD. Earline eventually joined the Pioneer ranks in 1985 as a Regular Pioneer. She continued this privilege for 37 years setting a fine example for her children and helped several others to come to know and love Jehovah. Many who are still serving Jehovah today. Over the years Earline had several secular jobs to support Paul in taking care of their family. She retired from the DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE.

Earline is survived by her husband, Paul L.D. Bowman Sr., Her Six Children: Paul Bowman Jr (Deidra), Earline H. Bowman, Kim Spivey (Kenneth Sr), Cynthia Wicks, Saundra Bowman, Tracy Bowman (Angela). Grandchildren: Erica Bowman, Paul Bowman III, Kenneth Spivey Jr, Sean Smith, Kristen Darden (Biko), Julian Smith (Rachel), Claudia Wicks. Great Grandchildren: Dante Smith, London Darden, Javan Smith, Italy Darden, Xavier Cooper.
