Mothers' day celebrates a child's love for his/her mother and a mother's love for her children.  I celebrate my mother's love every day of the year, and take today to say so.  I love you Mom.

Janice was a kind and loving person.  Her life was not a ride in a big car down Easy Street, but she never complained.  She was always there when needed and she loved her family and was very proud of her children.

I do not remember much about my relationship with Janice before my age seven.  Until then, I was just her "baby" sister, Janice being thirteen years older than me.  At 7, she would take me places with her, mainly to see boy friends, at least according to Mom and Dad.  My reward for keeping quiet would be nice walks, ice cream cones, coloring books, etc.  I would hint that I was going to tell (sibling blackmain) and the gifts kept coming.  She never called my bluff, but I would not have told anyway!

When I went to college, she would write words of encouragement and give me tips on the dating scene. She really had no need to worry as I spent most of my time studying with no time for dating.

After I married Harry, we moved to Georgia.  Janice and I lost touch with the exception of a few greeting cards.  When my new family returned to Maryland, we rekindled our close relationship as sisters.

Often, Janice would call just to tell me a joke, laugh and hang up!  When her family lived on Church Street in Frederick, I would often stop by her home to say hello and chat.

Janice was a wonderful sister.  Although she moved to Florida, we still visited on occasion and stayed in touch through letters, telephone, emails and cards.  She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for the positive influence she had in my life.  Love, Josie

Mom, when I count my blessings during this Thanksgiving, I count you first.  You are always in my heart and forever with me in Spirit.  Thank you for all the beautiful Thanksgiving memories.

Janice was a very special lady and I was proud to call her "Mom."  I have missed her now for some time, but I am fortunate to see her live on in my wife, Diana, who has so many of her qualities, her smile and her loving heart.  Rest in peace dear Janice.

Janice was Josie's oldest sister.  We will mis her.  Thoughts of her will bring back fond memories and she will live in our hearts.

Aunt Janice was a lovely soul. She only had a kind word for everyone she met.  She had an awesome sense of humor, even during the most trying times.  I am amazed at the devotion and love between Aunt Janice and Uncle Jim. You both are truly remarkable and inspirational people... It was an honor to have shared Aunt Janice in my life. She will be missed.  We love you Aunt Janice... Love Lu Ann, Todd, Casey, Parker and Grace Moran.

We had the wonderful oppourtunity to have met Janis and the family on a couple of occasions at Tom and Diana's homes. My own mother also was able to meet Janis and Jim at an Easter gathering. Speaking for my own mother,Wife and two children we all considered the whole family to be so very gracious,kind and giving to all of God's creations especially the ones in need. The Canifords are the type of folks a person is proud to say are special friends. Janis as all of her family are friends that everyone should be lucky enough know in their lifetime and we hold them all very close to our hearts and in our prayers. My personal feelings and prayers go out especially to Tom,Diana and Shelly and their father Jim. May God grant you spiritual peace and Bless your hearts in this sensitive time of seperation from your loved ones. As a believer in Jesus Christ I know we shall all be reuinited with our heavenly father upon his return and as for myself am encouraged with the knowledge of knowing that someday soon I will be able to meet every member of the caniford family at our heavenly family reunion. Although loved by everyone her life touched, no one loved her more than I did.  She was my best friend, my mentor, my inspiration, my hero.  She was so courageous and strong during her illnesses and could only be admired.  I have grieved for her for four years and now find comfort knowing she is now and forever with me in Spirit.  I find peace in my heart knowing she is whole and is with her loved ones, especially Jimmy, with her Lord.  Rest in peace my precious mother, until we meet again.

Janice was a lovely lady with two beautiful daughters who will miss her forever.  I am so glad both daughters were able to spend time with her just  before she went to be with her son and god.  She will be missed by many friends and her devoted husband.  God is the one to turn to for help with your grief, he will help.
