Mercedes Martinez

Mercedes Martinez was born in Philadelphia, PA in March 1965 to Federico and Mercedes Martinez and passed away in Tamarac, FL on March 6, just shy of her 57th birthday. Although she was an only child, her extended family is multinational. She loved her family and her friends. A huge animal lover, she often spent time helping to rescue animals, volunteering at an animal shelter that included donkeys, and donating funds to various organizations to help animals in need.

Many things made Mercedes laugh. Visits with her usually involved lots of laughter and those visits will be sorely missed. She was a legendary listener; a skill so rare these days. Mercedes was blessed with an incredible memory that enhanced her ability to listen and follow up from previous conversations. You truly felt that she heard your words. Even as her health failed her and through her suffering, she never lost her mental capacity.

Mercedes leaves behind two dearly beloved fur babies, Quinn and Trixie who will mourn the loss of their human. So many lives have been touched and forever changed for the better from spending time with her. The memory of Mercedes Martinez will live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known or spent time with her.
