Since she was very young, Amparito stood out because of her kindness and contagious happiness. She was always willing to lend a hand, listen, take care.... one example of this is taking one of her nephews under her wing. She was a loving daughter, an amazing sister, an exemplary mother, a dedicated wife, an unconditional aunt, and a loyal friend.
Her biggest purpose in life was always to keep her family united. Even though she was not always understood, her love for her friends and family was her drive in life.
Twenty years ago, she immigrated to the United States with her daughter Jessica in search of new dreams. Here, she met a very special man named Carlos Cosme, who would later become her husband. Together, they created a home full of love and prosperity. In this true sanctuary, the doors were always open for family and friends who ever wanted to go visit because that is what she enjoyed most, for people to go visit her, to be accompanied.
One of Amparito's greatest achievements was to have her dream come true of becoming a U.S citizen. She achieved this with great effort and pride. She was always grateful to God and to those who helped her achieve that dream.
Her fur babies also came all the way from Colombia, Bruno and Mia, whom she took care of with her motherly love, and in return, they brought her immense joy.
Amparito loved to travel with her husband, Carlos, and one of her most awaited moments was to go back to Colombia and visit her family. She was also a big Karol G fan whose music and lyrics inspired her greatly. Her heart was always filled with gratitude, and like one of her favourite songs would say:
I know I'm not perfect but I'm still here
Maybe tomorrow will be nice
Maybe the sun will come out clear
Maybe this pain will go away on it's own
and I won't feel pain if I repeat it:
Tomorrow will be nice.
...this resumed Amparito's life, the one of a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister in law, and friend...
Today, we don't say goodbye but see you later, because Amparito will be alive in every memory, in every smile that she ever evoked in others, and in every person who ever had the privilege of knowing her and loving her.
Thank you, Amparito, for so much love, you are in our hearts.
We love you.
