Angel D. Cacciatore

Angelina "Angel" Delia Cacciatore, 90, longtime resident of Tampa Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Daughter of Joseph and Rosalie "Lillie" Lazzara, Angel was born on May 25, 1932, in New York City and relocated with her parents to Tampa’s Ybor City as an infant. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1950, and in 1952 married Gaetano "Guy Tommy" Cacciatore at Tampa’s OLPH Catholic Church. Guy had recently entered the U.S. Air Force, which took the young couple to New Jersey and Washington, D.C. Upon discharge from the Air Force, Guy and Angel returned to Tampa in 1956 where they made a home and raised three sons through 37 years of marriage, until Guy’s passing in 1990. Angel continued to live in their home on Burke Street until 2016, when she relocated to Houston Texas.

Angel selflessly devoted her life to her family and to raising her sons. She and Guy spent many summers traveling and camping with their boys across much of America. The Cacciatore home was the center of activity for the neighborhood kids, as well as the gathering spot for Sunday pasta and family celebrations, with Angel quietly and seamlessly making it all work. She always opened her home to family and friends in need. Angel was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her sons, David (Becky) of Tampa, Florida, Mark (Linda) of Columbus, Ohio, Gary (Anh) of Houston, Texas; sisters, Gloria Costa, Joann (Jack) Ippolito, Joyce (Thomas) Valdes; grandchildren, Jason Cacciatore, Natalie Hartley, Stephanie Sasena, Nelson Cacciatore, Anthony Cacciatore, Justin Cacciatore, Christopher Cacciatore, Dominic Cacciatore, Vincent Cacciatore, Michael Cacciatore; eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 North Himes Avenue. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories.
