

Barbara Ann Brooks, 93 years old, passed away on December 14, 2025, at Sun City Center Hospice House. After being diagnosed with end stage liver disease and given about 6 months to live, she fiercely battled for nearly 3 more years.
Barbara was born on September 27, 1932, to parents Earlish and Maggie Cobb, in Claxton, Georgia. She was married to Richard Eugene Brooks for 66 years. They lived in South Tampa and were members of Manhattan Baptist Church for 50 years, where they faithfully served the Lord. Their faith in Christ was a firm foundation for their marriage and family.
Barbara “Toby” loved her family, cooking, baking and sewing. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have fond memories of her delicious poundcake, which was the best. She and Richard enjoyed spending most of their retirement years in North Georgia, where they fished most days and had many fish fries with their special campground friends.
Barbara is survived by her son, Paul and wife, Karen, daughter Karen and husband, Mike, son-in-law, Thomas Biel, grandchildren, Bryan, Kari, Bobby, Heather, Aubrey, and great grandchildren, Michael, Eliajah, Jaxon, Camile, Averie, Bradley and Marlee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, daughter, Deborah Biel and sister, Betty Marshall.
Graveside service will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Florida on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00AM.
