Bernice Elizabeth Gillespie, 93, of Tampa, FL., passed away May 20, 2014. Originally from Youngstown, OH. and Lake Worth, FL., she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Frank William Gillespie, and their infant daughter, Claudia Lynn Gillespie and her sister Stella Kemp, of Youngstown, OH.
Bernice is survived by her two sons, Donald Gillespie of Tampa, FL., and Jeffrey (and Julie) Gillespie of Lutz, FL., along with their children, Bernice’s treasured grandchildren: Jessica Gillespie of Vail, CO., Jennifer Gillespie of Aventura, FL., and James Gillespie of Tallahassee, FL.
Bernice is also survived by her younger sister Helen Semanik of Youngstown, OH., nephew Norman Semanik of Broomfield, CO., and niece Joyce Kemp Grieco of Youngstown, OH.
Bernice was a lifelong lover of the arts, and was an accomplished ballerina in her youth. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to a local ballet company or charity of your choice.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at Blount Curry Funeral Home
3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL 33618 from 1:00-3:00 Monday May 26th.
A reception will be held at the Gillespie residence in Lutz immediately following the memorial.
