Betty Vera Smith

Betty Vera Smith, “Memaw”, 95, of Seffner, Florida, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born on January 10, 1930, in Ybor City, Florida, Betty lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to her family.

A retired Hillsborough County school bus driver, Betty was known for her fiery spirit and always putting family first. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, and caring for her family and animals. Her life was a living testament to kindness, strength, and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Paul Eugene Smith, Sr., and her children: Michael Smith, Susan Hopper Rudd, Paul Smith, Jr. and Kenneth Smith.

Betty is survived by her devoted children: Linda Lynn (Jack), Kathy White, Johnny Smith (Rhonda), Cindy Smith, and Wayne Smith (Janet); as well as 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loving extended family members and dear friends.

A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610. A service will occur Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery, E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
