Brayden was born in Camarillo, California to Heidi and Chad McCormack on May 24, 2011. His family moved to Lutz, Florida in November of 2017. He went to school at Sunlake Academy of Math and Science. He always received the Principal's Honor Roll Award as well as many others. He played on soccer, flag football, and baseball teams. He succeeded greatly at anything he tried. His favorite thing to do was to be with his family. As long as family was around, he always had the biggest smile that would light up a room. He had nicknames for everyone, including his pets that he loved so dearly.
“How does a mother let go of a hand that isn’t done growing. I want to watch it get scruffy little hairs on it. Listen to his voice crack. Watch him grow taller then me. Watch him and his siblings play and grow together. Start his own family. He was so incredibly smart. Had the kindest heart you could know. And incredible wit. He was such a goofball that could always make me laugh. All my baby wanted to do was make everyone around him happy.
I’m so proud I was his mama.
My heart won’t ever be ready to let go.
How do I look out our window everyday that we felt so blessed to have. What was a gorgeous view, now it just makes my heart cry.
So many times he told Chad and I, thank you mommy and daddy for buying this house for us. He always had such a grateful heart. I never would of thought it would take him from us.
He was so happy and good.
He will forever be my Smooshy. 💔”
Brayden fought so incredibly hard for his life for 23 days in the ICU. But ultimately the Primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) was too great. He was surrounded by his loved ones as his heart took its last beat.
Brayden is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Ronald Cambra (Vavoo) and Claire Cambra (Memere)
Brayden is survived by his mother and father, Heidi and Chad; his older siblings, Lilly (13), and Bradley (10); his grandparents, Barbara Folden (Omi), Fred Folden (Papa), Diane McCormack (Grammy), Stew McCormack (Grampie), and Gunther Rasmussen; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Brayden would ask to donate to any animal shelters or sanctuaries. He had the greatest love for animals.
We his family would ask to donate towards amoeba awareness: http://www.kylelewisamoebaawareness.org/
