Brooklyn Rose Buzek was born on August 20, 2020 at just 24 weeks gestation to proud parents Amber and Dennis Buzek. Brooklyn spent much of her short life battling the effects of her premature birth. She was a fighter from beginning to end, even being nicknamed “feisty fighter” by the nurses and doctors who cared for her during her prolonged stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. Although she faced so many challenges along the way, Brooklyn was able to “graduate” from NICU after her record breaking 187 day stay there, being noted as the baby who stayed in NICU the longest time in the hospital’s history.
After Brooklyn’s release from the hospital, her parents dedicated themselves to her 24-hour care. Brooklyn was lovingly cared for in her parent’s home until her untimely passing in the morning hours of March 15, 2021. Brooklyn’s journey impacted many people from those who knew and cared for her to friends around the world who have followed her miracle story from conception. Brooklyn was loved deeply by so many and her memory will live on through all of the family and friends who have been there along the way.
Brooklyn is survived by her parents Amber and Dennis Buzek, siblings Brittany Buzek, Braily Buzek and Brandyn Buzek, grandmother Tena Frost, aunt and uncle Pam and Kevin Oliva and a large extended family. The family welcomes all to attend Brooklyn’s Life Celebration and Committal services on March 27, 2021 at 1pm. Services will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave, Tampa Florida 33610. Gifts of flowers may be sent in Brooklyn’s name to the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Brooklyn’s honor may be made at https://gofund.me/3ed933ac
