

Charlie spent the majority of his career in construction management along with landscape and irrigation design. He owned several businesses and most recently was a Superintendent for Bandes Company. He was a “country boy” at heart who loved camping, fishing, scuba diving, exploring little unknown places and had a passion for North Carolina Mountains and vintage trucks. Charlie loved to line dance, shag, and many other hip shaking moves. Charlie was a friend of Bill W. and passed a sober man. Charlie’s love for family reached deep inside of him. His hand was always out to help anyone who was in need.
Charlie was known by many names: tall dark and handsome by his wife, Daddy, Dad, Grampi, Uncle Charlie, Uncle Chunk, lil’ Charlie, brother, friend, cousin.
He is survived by his wife, Sue A. (nee Kyes) McGuire; children, Sierra Burnett and husband, Brandon, James T. Nanasy and wife, Amanda, Tyanne (nee Campbell) Bland and husband, Jason; cherished grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart, Alice, Aubrey and Reed; sister, Christina Barber and husband, Tom. He was and always will be loved and missed by many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
