

Charlotte L. Moyer was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Charlotte will be remembered as a very exceptional person. Charlotte was born on April 18, 1937 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL. She was the daughter of Caroline Victoria Beach Schumacher and Charles Lewis Schumacher. Charlotte grew up in Central Florida. Charlotte was raised with three siblings. Barbara Jean , Carol Ann, and Mary Frances. Charlotte was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years. As a young girl, Charlotte had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Charlotte was an active child who enjoyed playing softball. In her spare time she liked to go fishing , play softball and go horseback riding . Charlotte's memorable achievements included receiving the award for "best athlete" at Mango Junior High . The award was recognized in the Tampa Tribune . However, to Charlotte, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends. A typical teenager, Charlotte had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was Math. The teacher she enjoyed learning from the most was Mr. Kenneth Venette, her softball coach . Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Charlotte enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, one of her best friends was Dot Edwards . Later in life one of her close friends was Emma Baldree as well as friends from church. On August 14th, 1954 Charlotte exchanged wedding vows with Donald Dean Moyer at State Highway Baptist Church of Tampa , Fl. Empathic and loyal, Charlotte was committed to making her new family happy. Charlotte worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Charlotte was blessed with five children, two sons , Donald Dean and Alan Charles. Three daughters ,Barbara Gail, Cynthia Ann and Darlene Sue. Another blessing for Charlotte was the gift of twelve grandchildren, John Matthew Ose, Lynette Dawn Moyer, John Alan Hansman, Jeanette Dee Moyer McAdams, Lauren Ashlee Moyer, Jason Douglas Hansman, Nathan Alan Moyer, Stephanie Brooke Moyer Mortellaro, Shawn David VanLengen, Heather Elizabeth Ose, Amanda Dean Moyer Winter, and Emily Joy Moyer. Fortunately, Charlotte enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Charlotte worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was custodian. She was employed for the school system. Charlotte always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done. Charlotte enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were card making,rubber stamping, ceramics, shopping and cooking. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others. Charlotte’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church for several years , and a member of Lake Hill Baptist Church in Keystone Heights for several years. Charlotte enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included going crabbing and spending time at Lake Rosalie in Lake Wales. She and Donald also enjoyed a trip to Seattle to visit their daughter Gail and her family. Charlotte was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was her dog "Skipper". As a child, her family was rounded out by her pets, Betsy the calf, Beauty the horse, Judy the horse, and Sand Man the horse . She also had a few pets later on in life , including her dog Peanut ,and her cats Pepper & Ruben. When Charlotte’s retirement finally arrived in in her late 50's, she was well prepared. In retirement, she found new pleasure in selling boiled peanuts at the Waldo Flea Market with Donald. More recently she enjoyed working at the Food Bank with her church. Even in retirement, Charlotte continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Charlotte was active in her new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered her. Charlotte passed away on November 4, 2017 at Brandon Regional Hospital , Brandon ,FL. Charlotte battled against multi-organ failure. She was preceded by her husband , Donald , her son Donnie, sister Carol and grandchildren Lauren and Nathan. She is survived by her children Alan, Gail, Cindy and Sue. Her sisters, Barbara and Frances. Her grandchildren, Matthew, Lynnette, John, Jeanie, Jason, Stephanie, Shawn, Heather, Amanda and Emily. Her great grandchildren, Branson , Brentli, Jadee, Paisley, Israel, Kylie and Bella. Services were held at Landmark Baptist Church. Charlotte was laid to rest in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Simply stated, Charlotte was a loving and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives.
