After his early years in Wilmington, Delroy moved to Tampa, Florida, to live with his grandmother and father. He often spoke fondly of planting a tree with his grandmother Adassa in her front yard—a moment that sparked his love for gardening. From that day on, he proudly became “Mr. Green Thumb,” nurturing plants just as he nurtured the people he loved.
Delroy proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating courage, discipline, and unwavering dedication. His service reflected his deep love for his country and the values he carried throughout his life—honor, loyalty, and strength.
A gifted mechanic, Delroy had a lifelong passion for working on cars alongside his father. He dreamed of working for the same company as his dad, and that dream was fulfilled when he joined Orion Marine Group Construction, where they proudly worked together.
Music was another of Delroy’s great passions. As a skilled DJ, he created lasting memories for family and friends. He shared a special bond with his father through music and proudly embraced his Jamaican culture. Delroy loved fishing, laughter, family gatherings, and music—these were among his greatest joys.
Delroy was a devoted husband to Jeneane Carridice and a loving father to Khaleesi, Landon, and Trevante. He cherished Sundays spent with his children visiting his mother and attending church. He loved spending time with his wife, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. Free-spirited and deeply personable, Delroy loved everyone he met. A natural comedian, he could make anyone laugh until their stomach hurt and brought joy wherever he went.
He shared a special and loving bond with his stepmother, Donna Carridice, who doted on him, and he on her. She was always there for Delly, no matter what.
Delroy was the beloved son of Delroy E. Carridice (Donna) and Kay M. Carridice Walker (Waldo).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold Carridice; Adassa and Joseph Campbell; Hayward and Ethel; his aunts Winnifred, Mavis, and Beverley; and his beloved son Kai.
Delroy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Jeneane Carridice; children Khaleesi, Landon, and Trevante; sisters Pearl, Charmane, and Sade; uncles Tony (Charmaine), Fitz (Colleen), and Brother Pastor Leroy (Norma); aunts Carmen and Doreen; special cousin Omar (StarKeisha); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
“Walk good, Delly. Rest in eternal peace, until we meet again.”
