

E. George Rosanelli, Jr., M.D. of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024. Dr. Rosanelli served the Tampa Bay community for many years as a specialist in Glaucoma. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University and maintained lifelong friendships with his brothers of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. Dr. Rosanelli earned his medical degree from Georgetown University, followed by completion of a Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, and a Fellowship in Glaucoma at the University of California, San Francisco. He returned to Tampa, Florida and served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida until 1983. In 1984, he founded Glaucoma Associates of Florida where he continued in private practice until January 2023. His passion for Ophthalmology and for the prevention of blindness was evidenced by his devotion to his patients.
Dr. Rosanelli is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Yvonne Rosanelli; siblings Robert Rosanelli, Joan Grubb (William, M.D.) and Paula Gargan; nephews Robert and Stephen Rosanelli, Joe and John Gargan, and niece Joan Grubb Sanna. He was preceded in death by his parents E. George Rosanelli, M.D. and Mrs. Joan Marie Rosanelli, and brother Donald Rosanelli.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610. Visitation will be from 12:30 -2:00pm. and on January 11, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Andrew Torregrossa Funeral Home, 1305 79th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11228. Interment to follow at the Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn, New York, 11232.
