Ernest is pre-deceased by his parents, Luther James “Buck” and Alma Falk Buchanan; and brother, Luther James Buchanan, Jr.
He is survived by wife, Deborah Sue Mayhugh Buchanan; daughters, Kristene Buchanan and Julie Crawford; and sons, Pete Buchanan and Chris Key.
He is honored by his grandchildren, Brittany Green, John Crawford, Brianna Buchanan, Riley Crawford, Lathan Crawford, Brian Lasher and survived by his brother, Tommy Buchanan.
Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Ernest A Buchanan proudly served a combined 30 years in the United States Army and the Florida National Guard. He is dually retired from Freight Trucking Companies, USF and the State of Florida DOT.
Services will take place at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618 with a visitation scheduled for March 8 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Dr. Phillip Hanes of Idlewild Baptist Church will preside over funeral services on Friday, March 9 at 11:00 AM followed by fellowship at the Buchanan home.
