Evelyn Costion Comer Smith – Tampa, FL entered into Heaven on September 15, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born December 24, 1926 to John and Mary Costion in Brockway, PA. She is predeceased by her husband of thirty years, James Comer, and her son Lawrence Smith (Carol). She is survived by her daughters; Lynne Farley (Mick), Debbie Moyer (James), Juanita Prado (Edward), Terrasa Rafferty (Robin), and son Dan Smith (Maria), grandchildren; Paula Watrous (Bill), Mark Smith (Maria), Carson Smith (Heather), Nikesha Hiser and Adam Smith, Kayla and Britton Smith, Samantha and Toly Prado, and Connor Rafferty, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Evelyn moved to Tampa in 1967 and worked for 7-11 for ten years. She then worked for Morrison’s plant and Belk Lindsey selling shoes. At the age of fifty, she graduated from nursing school and became an LPN. She worked for University Community Hospital and Memorial Hospital. She retired from nursing and became a crossing guard for Bevis Elementary School. A Memorial Service will be held on October 13th at 2:00 PM at Blount and Curry Funeral Home at the Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. Following, A Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00 PM, 2801 Donnelly Rd. Valrico, FL 33596. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
