Born in Camagüey, Cuba, on September 16, 1951, Florangel (“Angel”) immigrated to the United States in the summer of 1969 with her parents (Francisco and Piedad) and her brother (Leonel), and settled in Chicago, IL. There, she married her husband (Carlos Sandoval) and had two children (Jennifer and Christopher). In 1987, she and her family moved to Tampa, FL, where she remained until her death.
Angel was a devout Christian and devoted daughter, wife, and mother, as well as a beloved friend, coworker, and fellow church member to many. She enjoyed exploring the U.S. and the world with Carlos, serving and singing at church, and welcoming others into her home and life. Moreover, Angel was known for her quick wit, mischievous streak, encouraging words, wise counsel, and eager evangelism.
Along with Carlos, Jennifer, Christopher, and Leonel, she is survived by her children-in-law (David Norman and Carrie Anne Sandoval) and her grandchildren (Lauren and Gabriel Norman and Magnolia Mae Sandoval).
Angel lived a faith-filled life of gratitude towards her faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
