

SIMMONS, Flossie C. DiBetta 95, went to sleep to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Flossie was preceded in death by her son Joe DiBetta II, her husband, William A.(Dock)Simmons, and her sister Ruth Waters. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Linderman and husband Dan, son Eugene DiBetta and wife Elia, stepchildren Beverly Jackson and husband Cecil, Debbie Payne and husband Tommy, Gary Simmons and Jim DiGuido, 5 grandsons, and 6 great grandchildren. Flossie was born in Soperton, Georgia on August 19, 1922. She was employed by the Augusta Georgia Arsenal from 1942 to 1945. In 1945, she moved to Tampa, Florida where she worked for the Peninsular Telephone Company from 1946 to 1951. While raising her three children, Flossie went to Cosmetology school and then worked at her own shop, “Flossie’s Coiffeurs”, as a Beautician from 1961 until closing the shop in 2005. In 1975, she attended Tampa Bay Vocational Technical Center where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Flossie was a loving Mother, Stepmother, Grandmother, and Wife. She greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and was loved by all that met her. Her hobbies included traveling, crocheting, working word puzzles and gardening. She was a very generous woman who loved to cook and share with others. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in her name to the Hope Children’s Home, 11415 Hope International Drive, Tampa, Florida 33625. Funeral services will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa on Tuesday, September 19th at 10:00a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
