Francisco Jesus Gonzalez

Francisco Jesus Gonzalez of Tampa, passed away on May 25, 2022, at the age of 93. He was born on September 17, 1928 to Geronimo Gonzalez and Eulalia Valladares Gonzalez. He was last survivor of six siblings.

He was born in Las Villas, Cuba and left to the United States in 1962 where he settled in New Jersey with his wife, Aurora Del Valle Gonzalez (deceased) and daughter, Leyda. His son Frank was born in New Jersey. The family then moved to Tampa, Florida in 1977, where he lived out the rest of his life. He worked for the Hillsborough County School Board until he retired.

He was a man with honor and principles. His passions were his family, his friends, and his farm where he raised farm animals such as chickens, rabbits, roosters, goats etc. Some of his most enjoyable moments were when he spent time with his granddaughters sharing his love of animals. He always loved having his home filled with family and friends.

He is survived by his current wife, Eneida; daughter, Leyda (Nandy - deceased); son, Frank (Dana); granddaughters, Irene (Peter), Gabriella (Jonathan), Ciera (Chelsea), Miranda (Colin), Maresa (Noah); great-grandchildren, Peter, Michael, Ariana, Alexandra, and Carson.

A funeral service for Francisco will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service (1 p.m.) at the funeral home.
