George Cleveland Whitley Sr.

He was a former Army Military Policeman, former police officer in Jessup, GA, and a former truck driver.

He spent six years in the Army, and approximately two years as a local police officer. He spent over 20 years as a truck driver.

George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Whitley; his children, Steven Whitley of South Carolina, Shelly Whitley of Jessup, GA, Cheryle Whitley of Colorado and George Whitley, Jr. of Jessup, GA; grandchildren, Roger Whitley of Tampa, FL, Alexander Lufriu of GA, Jacob Lufriu and Mark Eaton, Jessica Byrnes, Kelly Whitley, Kayla Byrnes, and Andrew Byrnes all of Colorado, Daniel Wallace and Paige Whitley of Jessup, GA; brother, Robert Whitley of Jessup, GA; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at the Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM followed by the memorial service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Brother Dixon Ayers will be officiating.
