George H. York passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve morning December 24, 2024, while visiting family in Nashville, TN. He was born July 12, 1948 in Bayshore, New York. He moved to Tampa in 1986. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Norbeth York of 48 years. He also has twin daughters, Kelly York and Sabrina Briggs and son-in-law James Briggs; and his loving grandchildren, Deacon & Kaylee Briggs, Noel, Karla, and Johnathan Pelloni.
He was a foster father to many other children over the years in Hillsborough County. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a pilot who loved boating, fishing, computers, and time traveling with his family. One of his recent joys was driving his Tesla and sharing with everyone he met about electric vehicles and solar power which was funny as mom would have lived on “Little House on the Prairie” and he preferred “Space X.” He and his wife saw all 50 states together. He retired from Netwolves in 2017 as Senior Systems Engineer.
