Gerald was born New Cumberland, WV to Norella and Norval Jacobs on May 24, 1930. He went to school at New Cumberland High School. He married Grace Frances Aria on June 30, 1956 in Weirton, WV – they had 59 wonderful years together. He graduated from New Cumberland High School in 1949. He worked as a galvanized foreman for Weirton Steel for 42 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was awarded numerous medals during his service. Gerald was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spending time with his daughter and her husband and lived a fully independent life until his passing at nearly 91 years of age.
Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Grace.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Paula Jager and her husband Rick Jager of Tampa, FL and sister Donna Dixon of New Cumberland, WV.
A Committal service will be held 2pm on May 21st at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell FL.
