Gerald Mitchell

Mr. Gerald Michael Mitchell age 77 of Blairsville, GA. and Tampa, FL. Passed away suddenly and peaceful on Tuesday June 24, 2025 in the Union General Hospital, Blairsville , GA. following an extended illness. Mr. Mitchell was born on March 6, 1948 in Brunswick, Canada the son of the late Donald Gardner Mitchell and the late Marion Phyllis Waite Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of the US Navy with over thirty years of service to his country. Gerald loved his retirement property in Blairsville, hiking the mountains, fishing, being outdoors and especially spending time with his grandson. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather. Mr. Mitchell was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving Mr. Mitchell are his loving wife and best friend of forty nine years, Celia Bruno Mitchell of Tampa and Blairsville, daughter, Angela Thomson and Shawn Thomson of Tampa; daughter, Ashley Mitchell and Jon Zatarain of Tampa; one sister, Jill Mitchell of St. Augustine, FL.; one grandson, Jase Thomson of Tampa; nephew, Chris Lawrence; niece, Shannon Irlander; and many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm on July 26, 2025 at Blount and Curry Carrollwood located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. Family welcomes you to join then for a visitation at 3pm. Interment with Military Honors presented by the US Navy will take place at Florida National Cemetery on July 28, 2025 at 11am.
