

Geraldine W. “Geri” Nail, 90, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Born on September 2, 1935, in Toledo Ohio, she lived a long, faith filled life marked by kindness, service, and a deep devotion to her family and her church. Geri lived most of her adult life in the Tampa area and was widowed by Willie E. Nail, a retired Tampa Police detective. Survived by Her sons Stephen (Kim) Leonard of Brewster Ohio and Mark (Tammy) Leonard of Webster Florida.
Geri was the second oldest of six children born to Lawrence and Myrle Witker. She grew up in a close knit family that shaped her gentle spirit and strong sense of responsibility. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters, and is survived by her two younger brothers, who will forever cherish her memory.
In her later years, Geri made her home in Webster, Florida, where she lived with her son, Mark (Tammy) Leonard at the Veteran Ranch and Rescue Center where she continued to sweep the barn, care for the animals and her favorite picking up sticks. Their home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting presence of her steady grace. Her faith was the foundation of her life. Over the years, Geri was an active member of several church families lastly was Park Place Baptist Church of Bryant, Arkansas. She shared her musical gifts by playing both piano and organ, enriching worship services with her heartfelt talent. Among the many hymns she loved, her favorites were “Victory in Jesus,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “Amazing Grace,” songs that reflected her deep and enduring faith. She also served faithfully in numerous administrative and volunteer roles, always offering her time with humility and joy.
Geri was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Chayil Branda, Rachael Jensen, Danielle Younker, Nikita Leonard, Anna Costello, Matthew Leonard, Kyle Leonard, Abigail Whitlock, and Kelsey Leonard.
She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren: Michael Branda, Hanna Branda, Jaedyn Branda, Sara Younker, Braxton Leonard, Gregory Younker, Alexia Leonard, William Jensen, Breckan Leonard, Katelyn Jensen, Amelia Summerlin, Annalise Jensen, Bella Jensen, and Christopher Jensen. Geri will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the quiet strength that guided her through every season of life. She touched countless lives with her compassion, her patience, and her ability to make others feel welcomed and valued.
Visitation will take place at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610 on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Afterward, a reception will take place at the funeral home, where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor Geri’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Park Place Baptist Church of Bryant Arkansas or Westgate Baptist Church of Tampa. May her life’s melody continue to echo in the hearts of all who loved her, and may the grace she lived by shine on through every life she touched.
