Jim was born in Rochester, New York, to James Burt Richardson and Mary Ella Bates Richardson Barden. He attended school in Vestal NY and studied communications at Broome Community College. He worked in restaurants and radio but spent many years collecting music CDs and vinyl records and turning his passion into a small business.
Jim “JP” was a kind and light-hearted person who brought joy to those around him. His family was very important to him. For the past 6 years he lived in Florida and was able to help take care of his mother and father as well as spend quality time with his brother and other family members.
Jim was preceded in death by his four grandparents, Uncle Stephen Carlman and stepfather Lloyd Barden.
James Palmer Richardson is survived by his father, James B (& Anne Morton) Richardson; mother, Mary Barden (Molly); brother Kevin (& Sara) Richardson; niece Gabriella Richardson; nephew Benjamin Beronda and family; aunt, Nancy Bates Carlman; aunt, Sharon (& Rick) Lobur; cousin Sean Lobur and family; cousin Stacy Flanagan and family; step brother Richard (& Sue) Barden; and his beloved dog, Layla.
No service will be held, but we are planning on establishing a quiet, comfort bench to honor him.
May he now rest in peace, and may God’s comfort surround all who mourn his passing.
