Jane Ann Wood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Ann Wood, age 74, of Odessa, FL, who left us on June 17, 2025. Born on December 6, 1950, in Mt. Vernon, IL, Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy in life was being a devoted family member.

A proud graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School, Jane enjoyed a diverse career. She was the owner of The Mitered Corner in Mt. Vernon, IL, and spent the last 18 years of her career in Tampa, FL as the office manager for her son’s company, J.W. Cole Financial. Jane's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family; she served as an extended mother to her employees, embodying warmth and support in all her interactions.

Jane cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter and a never-ending supply of amazing brownies. She found joy in playing bridge with her close friends, where her competitive spirit shone brightly, but the love and laughter through spending time with her close friends burned even brighter. Her kindness and generosity were evident in her willingness to help anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert McClinton Jr.; grandmother, Irene McClinton; father, Robert McClinton III; and mother, Maxine McClinton.

Jane is survived by her beloved daughter, Pam Crawford of Roswell, GA, and her husband, John Crawford; her son, R.J. Wood of Tampa, FL, and his wife, Patience Wood; and her cherished grandsons: Cole Crawford, Breck Crawford, Kash Crawford, A.J. Wood, and Brody Wood.

In honoring Jane’s memory, the family has chosen not to hold formal services but encourages those who wish to remember her to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice. Jane’s generous spirit will continue to inspire acts of kindness in her memory.

Rest in peace, Jane. Your overwhelming love, acceptance and encouragement will forever be in our hearts.
