

Janet Ruth Malott, age 78, passed away on February 4, 2025. She is proceeded in death by her sisters Elaine Muther and Shirley Kirwin. Born on August 3, 1946, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Janet graduated from Florida Atlantic University and lived a life devoted to her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith and her family were her greatest joys. She married Robert Malott, her loving husband of 56 years, and together they raised two children, Jannifer, and Cris. To her husband Robert, she was a model Proverbs 31 wife, exemplifying strength, dignity, and kindness in all that she did.
Janet was a beloved elementary school teacher for 39 years, known for her kindness and her famous phrase, “Mrs. Malott loves you a lot.” She spent many cherished moments in the mountains of North Carolina and adored spending time with her grandchildren and working in the children’s ministry at church. A talented cook, she found joy in sharing meals. She also was an avid gardener, having an affinity for nature and birds.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Malott, her children, Jannifer (Husband Albert Ortiz) and Cris (Wife Sunshine Malott), grandchildren, Kayleigh, Noah, Hunter, Tyce, Ean and great-grandchild Drew.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 13th, viewing at 9:30, service at 10 a.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, located at 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33618. Burial services will follow at 12 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655.
