Jason's passing is a huge loss to our office and the people we serve, but it’s the loss of his reliable presence, his sense of humor, his laughter, his friendship, and his passion for things, that we will miss the most. I can't help seeing him everywhere I look in the office and in our work. He was such an integral part of our little work family - through the good times in our lives and the bad times. He accepted me for who I was and he knew that he was safe, accepted and supported by me in return - no matter how many times he yelled and cursed at his computer. My heart truly goes out to Suzy and Jason's parents, family and friends. He deserved more time, but was someone who made the most of the time that he did have - and we are all very lucky to have had him as a part of our lives.

He will be missed, such a kind man and a friend through our work!

I got so lucky to have this human as my uncle. Every milestone in my life is accompanied by the memories of him cheering me on. If you knew him you were better off for it. Every phone call, baseball game, Disney trip, holiday, I could count on him making me laugh. He kept me up to date on any and everything music. Out mutual disdain of the Yankees as we drove past their spring training field. He will be forever missed is the biggest understatement. We love you uncle Jay.

Jason came to work with us almost 18 years ago. I felt like I knew him before he even started, because Marla would often tell me stories about him and their time working for the state. Over those 18 years, I came to know a guy who had a wicked sense of humor, but also someone who valued family and friends, above all. His family should know that he often talked about all of you at work, and it was evident that he loved you all so much. He was so proud of his nieces and nephew, his cousins, and of course his sister. And Suzy—he repeatedly talked about what a kind, loving, compassionate soul that you are, and we could all see how much he loved you. I will forever miss hearing that little mischievous giggle coming from his office, while he was listening to Howard. I’ll even miss hearing him yell at his computer, when it froze or malfunctioned in the middle of a report. I’ll miss him telling us about concerts he saw with Phil and Ann (and sometimes Leo!), and all the wonderful family meals prepared by his mom. You fought hard, Jason. Rest easy, my friend.

There was nobody else like Jason George. He lived life on his own terms and if you didn’t like it, (to use his own vernacular) “fuck it.” His family says he cheated death for many years and they are grateful for the time they had with him. How brave they are and how brave he was. He never backed down and never let you down. You think of him as a tough guy because he was so strong in his convictions but his compassion and honesty always thoroughly impressed me and endeared him in my heart. The heart. The weakest part of his body but the strongest part of his character. We loved him period. My husband lost a brother. I lost someone I am extremely proud to call my friend. Suzy we love you and will always be here for you. To Leo, Carol, Kendra and all the family, I’m so proud of you. Thanks for sharing him with us.

I’ve lived every day of the last 33+ years, with Jason in my life, as a surrogate brother; I don’t remember life without him. 20 of those years were spent working together. We met our first day, working for the government and we never left each other’s lives. We talked, shared, laughed, cried, argued, debated, cheered each other on, stayed by each other’s side during hard times. I cannot tell you how many times he helped me move or hugged me tight, during bad times, or yelled at me for not liking a movie he loved. 
He was the  most loyal, steadfast person I have ever known. He loved Suzy and his whole family with everything he had. Although, I’ve only met some of his family and friends, once or not at all, I know all about you all from all he told me. He was so proud of his nieces, nephew, cousins, sister, and parents. I watched him fall in love with Suzy and cried happy tears at their wedding,  04/05/97, a beautiful day, but not super-lucky lottery numbers!
This  world will be forever dimmer, without this man and his love, his knowledge, his jokes, his laugh, his loyalty, his soft heart. He deserved  a much longer, healthier life. But, man, did he live every minute of his time, in the best way; surrounded by and giving love, and giving 100% to everything and everyone he loved, always. 
My world is already dimmer. Rest in peace, my friend, you are loved and I’ll carry you in my heart and mind forever.

I’ve known you since the day you were born. My memories of all we did and shared would take an eternity to list. Simply, you loved family first! You lived your life to the fullest crossing some steep hills along the way. You married the love of your life and added another layer to your family. Your nieces, nephew and cousins were like your own. You were steady, funny, smart and thought of others first. You were my confidant and were there for every holiday, celebration, graduation, milestone and life event. There were not many we missed. Your commentary on our sports teams and your impersonation of the greatest moments will make me smile forever.  Pacing during big games was your routine. Your air instrument solo’s were the best, especially the drum solo. I never ordered fries with my meals when we all went out- I picked off your plate. I will miss your support and advice but I know I only need to look above to see and hear you.

Jay was one of my best friends during the time he lived in Connecticut. He was loyal, honest, highly intelligent and hilariously funny. He was a big influence on my musical and cinematic tastes. We went to many concerts together and I went with him to see a taping of Late Night with David Letterman at 30 Rock, which I will never forget. Every time I hear R.E.M., Siouxsie and the Banshees, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Go-Go’s, the Bangles, and anything to do with Florida I think of him. He was very close to his family and loved them very much. He will be sorely missed by friends and family. I love you Jay! Spag

I was lucky enough to spend a good portion of my childhood with Jason as my friend. Our mutual love of music, film and comedy allowed us to share time together going to see movies and some amazing concerts.

His positive attitude and always present smile was inspiring and I remember us laughing a lot as we had the same sense of humor. Rest easy Jay.

I cannot count the number of times I have picked up my phone to text Jason about a football game or players or a movie or tv show since I found out he passed.
It was an honor and a privilege to work with Jason these past ten years and to be able to call him my friend.
I miss him so much and will keep his memory alive by always rooting for the Canes!
Maya and I send love and strength to surround Suzy and the George family.

Our friendship was one in which no matter how much time had passed between talks or visits we picked up right where we had left off. I've known Jay for over 45 years. He was truly one of the best. I will miss him dearly. May his memory always be a blessing.

I love that no matter how many years have passed or the miles between us, our families from the neighborhood where we grew up are still close. This photo is from about 7 years ago when I was on a business trip in Orlando and Jay & Suzy made time to see me and let me join one of their special family Disney trips.

Stacy and I are very sad and shocked to hear of Jason's passing.  I have great memories of Jason, including visits to his family's home in CT, attending a Hartford Whalers hockey game, and meeting up with him and his wife Suzy at Disney as a post-graduation trip.  He's a fellow cat lover.  We are sending our condolences and prayers go to his wife Suzy and his family Carol, Leo, Kendra, Debbie and Keneisha.

Sending prayers and condolences to the George Family. My family and I were very saddened by the word of Jason passing.  Jason and I were very young childhood friends growing up in Waterbury with the Ralph family living next door to “ The Georges” Grandpa Leo George was like the grandad I never had and Jason my first childhood friend.

While we grew apart going to different schools then him moving I always saw him as my “ First Best Friend” very sad that we could not make it to Florida for services, but want to share that The Ralph family send deepest condolences and love. 🙏🏾

I want to send my deepest condolences to the entire family. Jason aka Uncle Jay treated me as if I was his blood. Always kind and full of joy. I remember coming down to Tampa with Momma Kendra and Keneisha to visit and I remember laughing that entire trip. Truly a gem and a good spirit. You will be missed dearly.

I send my heart felt condolences to Jason's wife, Suzy and his family. Jason was always a pleasure to talk with and even though his was a "true cat person" he always seemed happy to see Billy. Billy is a dog and belongs to a Judge at the court house and would come and visit some days.  Jason, Billy and I will miss seeing you.
