Jesse T. Hearn III

Jesse T. Hearn, III, age 38, born September 24, 1977, died September 19, 2016 at 12:45 a.m., at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He is survived by his father and mother, Jesse T. Hearn, Jr. and Betty; his brother, Marcus C. Hearn; his paternal aunts, Orlean (Lester) Kyles, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mildred Cole of Jackson, Mississippi, his paternal uncle, Edward Hearn (Mary), of Jackson, Mississippi, his maternal aunt Gennia P. Varnada, of Florence, Mississippi, his paternal uncle, Hubert C. Smith, Jr. (Jean), of Jackson, Mississippi, and his Godmother, Evelyn Jones-Wilson of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends, including his very special friend, whom he adored, Jessica Bedoya. Jesse graduated from the University of South Florida, with dual degrees in psychology and English. He subsequently attained his Master’s degree in Education with specialties in English grammar and literature. Continuing his family’s unwavering legacy to educate, help and inspire youth, he started his ten year career teaching English to disadvantaged middle school students. He subsequently transferred to Davidsen Middle School in the Westchase community of Tampa where he taught gifted, honors, and disadvantaged students, during regular school hours, and remediation classes for disadvantaged students after regular school hours. As a youth, Jesse enjoyed playing soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. As an adult, he enjoyed weight training and watching football, baseball, and hockey. He will be remembered as a fiercely independent, soft-spoken, kind, and selfless person whose quiet demeanor allowed him to accept, respect, love and serve others unconditionally. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jesse’s life during the following ceremonies. A traditional mass, dedicated to Jesse, is scheduled for September 23, 2016, at 10 a.m., at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 12708 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Florida 33618. A family and friends visitation service is scheduled for September 24, 2016, at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W Bearss Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33618. Refreshments will be served from 1 – 2 p.m. Tributes will be shared from 2 – 2:30 p.m. after which the funeral director will prepare the family and guests for departure for the burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida 34655 (813) 920-4241 or (727) 376-7824.
