BARDO, John Joseph, 92, born Brooklyn, NY, now of Valrico passed away on April 18, 2017. John was predeceased by Jessie (Potts) his beloved wife of 72 years. He is survived by his daughters Judy Donn Nesbit, Kathryn Raines, and Dagmar Bardo; grandchildren John Donn and Jennifer Raines; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Phillip and Trudy. We are forever grateful for his love and support throughout the years. A multi-decorated WWll veteran, John was in the Mighty Eighth, 390th Bomb Group serving as a B-17 aerial gunner flying in 30 missions followed by a tour in the reserves. John continued to serve his country through a rewarding 40-year career in the US Public Health Service, continuing this work as a contractor after retiring. John also worked as an election poll worker and volunteered in the Virginia civil air patrol and as HOA treasurer. Visitation for the family and friends will be on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 11am-12pm with services immediately following at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, at 4207 E. Lake Ave, Tampa, FL.
