John Samuel Kim

It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, John Samuel Kim.

John was a pillar of strength, kindness, Faith and unwavering love to all who knew him. He peacefully took his last breath on at home on October 11th. He was surrounded by warm memories and the embrace of his loving family.

Visitation and funeral services for John Samuel Kim will be held at Northdale Lutheran Church in Tampa. The viewing will take place on Sunday, October 22nd, at 1 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. A light reception will be held afterward, providing an opportunity for friends and family to share cherished memories and support one another during this difficult time.

John was not only a father, but a true friend and confidant to his children, John Kim and Carolyn and Mack Chambers. His wisdom and guidance were a constant source of inspiration, shaping their lives and instilling in them a deep sense of compassion, integrity, and faith.

A devout follower of Christ, John's faith was the foundation of his life. He lived his life as a shining example of love and devotion to God, consistently attending services at Northdale Lutheran Church. He found solace and strength in his faith, and his unwavering belief in God's love guided him through all aspects of his life.

As a "Papa," John held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, Lauren and Thomas Justice, Vanessa and Patrick Byrd. To them, he was a source of joy and endless stories, always ready to share a laugh or lend a listening ear. His love knew no bounds, and his presence brought warmth and comfort to their lives.

And as a "GreatGrandPapa," John's legacy extended even further, touching the lives of Noah, Oliver, Gabriella Justice, and Tyson Byrd. His gentle guidance and unwavering support will forever be cherished by these little ones, as they grow and carry his love in their hearts.

It is bittersweet to know that John is now reunited with his beloved wife Katherine Kim, who preceded him in death. How beautiful it is that he gets to be with her on her birthday, celebrating their eternal love together.

John Samuel Kim will be remembered for his boundless love, his infectious laughter, endless knowledge, and his genuine care for others. He had a way of making everyone feel special and appreciated. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he shared that light with all those around him.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind. May we carry his kindness, compassion, unwavering faith, and love in our own lives, honoring his memory by spreading warmth and friendship to all we encounter.

Rest in peace, Papa. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever shine bright in our hearts.

A gathering of family & friends for John will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Northdale Lutheran Church, 15709 Mapledale Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33624, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
