

John was born in Tampa, Florida to John B. and Aurora Provenzano on December 28, 1954. He went to school at Bishop Moore High School. He was accepted to the University of Florida but decided to attend the University of South Florida because he could take his car and start as sophomore. He married Cynthia McGowan on February 28, 1976 in Tampa, Florida. He worked in the insurance industry and owned Group Administrative Concepts Inc. John’s passion was his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel and he and his wife Cindy enjoyed boating and made many memories and friends at Isla Del Sol Yacht Club. He was the biggest supporter of his grandchildren and could regularly be found at their activities, whether it was at a race track, Friday Night Lights, wrestling matches, dance recitals or cheerleading competitions. He was a lifelong Gator fan.
John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phil and Rose Provenzano, Aurora Galasso and his father-in-law, Lindy A. McGowan.
John is survived by his spouse, Cindy Provenzano, daughters, Candice (Shaun) Bernstein and Andrea Provenzano, sister, Julie Provenzano, brother and sister-in-law Nick and Linda Puleo, parents, John and Aurora Provenzano, Mother-in-law, Jackie McGowan, Grandchildren, Colin and Cassidy Bernstein and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at the Tavern at Cheval on October 8, 2023 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
John was a gentleman of dignity and faith. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Moffit Cancer Center, Marliere Hospice House or your favorite charity.
