Joy Ann Horne

Born February 23, 1952 to John Julian and Daisy Mae Blanchard, Joy was raised in Lutz, FL surrounded by the love of her many siblings, with whom she shared lifelong bonds with. Joy married the love of her life, Dale, and was a truly devoted wife throughout the many years of health challenges that arose. Joy always put everyone’s needs ahead of her own, and never skipped a beat when it came to ensuring her family was cared for. Finally, her spirit is free from her broken body and is now reJOYcing in the beauty of Heaven with those that have been waiting to celebrate her!

Joy is survived by her daughters Nikki Goins (Jason), Rhonda Copeland (Jason), Grandchildren Shelbie Doherty (Stephen), Joshua Goins (Jessica) and Logan Copeland. She also leaves behind one brother, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Being one of the best cooks you’ll ever meet, she put an extra pinch of love in every meal she prepared, this was her love language.

We are blessed to have had such a loving, doting mother. She was simply the best wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend anyone could ever ask for. Her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, dog (Dede) and grand dogs were the loves of her life.

Joy took pleasure in the simple things, whether it was playing cards with her brother Lemmie Jay and Sister in Law Lynda, a day on the town with her partner in crime, Margaret Alice, or going to lunch with her longtime friends, Robert and Maria Anderson, she was sure to enjoy herself.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, Joy was a gift on loan from Heaven above and her work here on Earth is done.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord - 2 Corinthians 5:8

A visitation for Joy will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
