Born in Goldsboro, N.C. and raised in Winter Haven, LeAnne moved to Tampa in 1975 and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in zoology. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church ladies’ guild and a devout Catholic. She donated to Doctors Without Borders and volunteered as guardian ad litem. A quiet environmentalist, she refused to use plastic water bottles, rode her bicycle to work for years at the City of Tampa, and left bowls askew so lizards could escape. Her every action was thoughtful.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Henry, and Janet Zibelin of Winter Haven. She is survived by her husband Mike Honeycutt, sons John (wife Jennifer) and Garrett, and their wide circle of friends, all of Tampa; grandson Levi of Jacksonville; and her brother and sister in-law, William Richard Carr and JoAnne Carr of Spokane, Wash.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2021, between 9 and 10 a.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by an Interment at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
