

Lewis David Spielberger, went home to God on April 23, at the age of 82. Lewis was born on May 1, 1927 in Louisville Kentucky. He attended Plant High School before going on to serve his country as a Navy SeaBee during WWII. Lewis began work as a surveyor for the City of Tampa and retired after 32 years as the Supervisor of the Materials Testing Laboratory. Lewis is survived by Mary Ann (DeLoach) his loving wife of 56 years, his five children; son William Spielberger, grand-children Nicholas, Joshua, Joseph, and Noah, daughter Gail Simpson, grand-daughter Megan and great-grandson Cameron, daughter Kim Workman, her husband Douglas, grand-children Matthew and Natalie, daughter Nancy Hahn, her husband David, grand-children Lauren, Nathan and Stewart , and son Michael Spielberger, his wife Cheryl, grand-children Jacob and Julia. He is also survived by a nephew, Henry Spielberger Jr., and his wife Faye. He was preceded in death by his brother Henry Spielberger. His extended family and friends will miss him as well including Roxanne Brower and Mark Norman and all his friends at the Ingram pool. A family statement reads, "We will miss him greatly, but his memories and the lessons he taught us will last forever." He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank the Burgandy Team of Hospice and Florida Cardio Vascular Institute for their wonderful care. A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday April 28 from 5 to 7:30PM at Marsicano-B.Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home.
