

Linda was born in Wimauma, FL and lived most
of her life in Tampa, FL. She married Jose “Joe”
Alpizar on October 4, 1959 in Kingsland, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe
Alpizar; parents, Jasper H. Zipperer & Jewell E.
Taylor Zipperer; her sister, Alma Jackson; her
brothers, Homer Zipperer, Graden Zipperer &
Maxie Zipperer. Linda is survived by her 4
children, Deborah L. Velasco (Randy), Judy K.
York, Donald J. Alpizar, David A. Alpizar
(Rhonda); 6 grandchildren, Ashley Alpizar
(Jaclyn), Jessica McAlister (Billy), Amber
Foxworth (Michael), Michael Alpizar (Jeremy),
Jason Velasco (Nikki), Jacob Velasco; 3 greatgrandchildren,
Cole Myrick, Bailey Myrick,
Hunter Velasco; numerous nieces & nephews
and great-nieces & great-nephews.
Linda was a member of Temple Crest Baptist
Church in Tampa for 52 years. Linda was a
homemaker. She nurtured and raised many
children, including family, friends, and
neighbors. Linda enjoyed cooking and baking
and was very good at it. No one can cook like
she did. Her recipes have always been and will
always be coveted by anyone that tasted her
food. Linda enjoyed crocheting, needle point,
sewing and crafts. She also enjoyed reading and
gardening.
Linda was 76 years old at the time of her death.
A Celebration of Life visitation will take place
on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 1pm-3pm
at Garden of Memories Funeral Home (4207 E.
Lake Ave) in Tampa, for both Linda and her
brother Maxie. In lieu of flowers, her family
asks that donations be made in Linda’s honor to
the Melech Hospice House of Temple Terrace,
FL.
