Lino Antonio Conto’, age 84, of Lutz, Florida, died peacefully in the presence of family on May 2, 2016. The burden of living without his wife, Elia, became too much to bear. He is survived by his three children, Dante, Rina (and their spouses, Rosy and George), and Darlina. Lino had three grandchildren; Dina, Lino and Massimo. Lino Conto’ was born March 8, 1932 in Castagnole di Paese, Treviso, Italy, to parents Antonio and Angela. He had four siblings. He left Italy at 18 years of age to pursue a new life in Canada. Like many immigrants, he arrived in Canada with very little resources and managed to cultivate an abundant life through perseverance, hard physical work, sacrifice and fierce determination. He married Elia Benincasa in 1957 and remained in Toronto, raising his family until 1981, when he moved his family to California to soak up sunshine and opportunities. He would be described as a solid man in spirit and physical presence, an ambitious and highly intelligent man who believed he could move mountains. His life values included an unsurpassed work ethic, loyalty and devotion to family and an appreciation of nature and its offerings. He made a mark on this world and will be sorely missed. A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 11am to 12pm with a service to follow at 12pm in the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearrs Ave, Tampa, Florida 33618. Entombment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater, Florida.
