

Tampa, Florida -Dr. Lois Nelle Ingle Michael passed away in her sleep January 27, 2015. Born October 14, 1920 in Eustis Florida, to parents M.B. Ingle and Hazel Prusman Ingle who settled in Carrollton Georgia. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1935, attended Cincinnati Bible College and received her Bachelor degree in 1938. She was a bookkeeper at Southwire after World War II also worked at the Production Credit Association until her marriage to James Bruce Michael. She managed the Michael family cotton farm in Temple Georgia and attended West Georgia College graduating in the first class to receive their Bachelor Degrees in 1959. She taught fifth grade at Brookshire Elementary School in Winter Park Florida and in taught at Bowdon Public Schools while pursuing a Master of Science and Doctor of Education degree at Auburn University, graduating in 1966. Moving to Tampa Florida, she was Professor of Education and Director of the Reading Clinic at the University of South Florida. She became Visiting Professor at Riverina College in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. As Reading Director, Supervisor and Classroom Teacher she taught for the Pasco County School System until her retirement from education. A new career in tax consulting resulted in twenty five years with H & R Block retiring in 2010. She was a faithful usher and ticket taker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and participated in the Gasparilla 5K road race yearly until 2009, winning her age group more likely than not. She was preceded in death by her brothers Richard, a casualty of WWII and Maurice, and nephew William. Lois Michael is survived by her son, James Bruce Michael, Jr., daughter in law Shpresa Theodhosi Michael, both architects in Sharon Massachusetts, grandsons James Bruce Michael III and Adrian Lewis Theodhosi Michael, architects in training in Boston, nephews Richard and Robert Ingle and niece Carol Mabry from Carrollton. Viewing and Wake for Dr. Michael will be at Blount and Curry Funeral Home 3207 Bearss Avenue Tampa Florida, Monday February 2, 2015 from 6pm to 8 pm. Funeral and burial will be at a later date in Carrollton Georgia.
