Luke served in the US ARMY and after his second tour overseas, he decided to continue serving his country in the National Guard and follow his passion of being a Teacher. He was just a few credit hours from completing his Masters in Business Leadership and was preparing to apply for his doctorate in Education. He was a teacher at the Transition School in Saint Augustine.
Luke had the biggest smile, a smile so big that his eyes all but disappeared when he’d grin. His laugh was infectious, and it was nearly impossible to not join him in laughter. He made an impact on each and every person he met. Luke left the world a little better than he found it, and enriched the lives of those who knew or knew of him.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Jeanette Wurster Turney; aunts, Eileen Turney and Anna Marie Shimer; uncle, Franklin Turney III.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kari; his parents, Marie and Earl Muth and Wayne and Shelley Shimer Sr. ; mothers and fathers in law, Jody and Shane Sinnott and Rusty and Shannon Ladner; siblings Jessica Cavallaro, Wayne Shimer Jr, Tyler Mooney, Alex Merrill, and Declan Sinnott, Michelle Eidle, Kimberly Blose, and Stephanie Karl; extended family, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of his life will be 3PM Saturday at The Carriage House, 259 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
We are looking forward to celebrating with everyone who can attend and please know that Luke’s favorite color was purple so if you can wear something with that, we will all share in his loves together.
