Mary Theresa Berry

Mary Theresa Berry was born on October 7, 1929, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and passed away on September 20, 2021, in Tampa, Florida. She was one of three children born to Mary Ethel Howard and John D. Howard. At 18, Theresa was shopping at a local drug store and immediately noticed a handsome sailor (the new guy in town), Bob Berry. Bob and Theresa's encounter at the local drug store grew into a great life together until Bob passed in 1985. Bob Berry was the love of her life. They built a beautiful life and family in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they raised a family with three daughters and a son. Bob and Theresa owned a successful clothing business, "Spot Bargain/Berry's."

She enjoyed her family very much; she took great pride in having a big family. When she lived in Tulsa, she had the family every summer for food, love, and lots of swimming in the pool and the red-hot tub. Her love for life and family was no secret. She enjoyed every moment and never forgot a special occasion or a birthday.

After retirement, Theresa relocated to sunny Florida to be close to family. Widowed at 56, she picked herself up and moved through life with grace and independence. Theresa enjoyed weekly lunches and a fierce game of bridge with her tight circle of girlfriends. Theresa was an avid reader and loved to travel. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and never missed a game.

She had a deep devotion to her faith, family, and friends. Her sparkling eyes and zest for life were contagious. Her wit and honesty kept everyone on their toes.

Theresa Berry is survived by four loving children, Carolyn (Gary), Phyllis (John), Bobby and Lisa (John)- her grandchildren, Chad (Helen), Cadee, Cash (Taylor), Cari (Matt), Johnny (Marie), RC, Robert Michael, and Matthew Berry, as well as her great-grandchildren, Channce, Couper (Morgan) Gary, Blu, Lillian, Cash-Robert, Charlotte, and Kheira-Berry, and great-great-grandchild Lily. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.

A private service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida. Mary Theresa Berry will rest in peace at Memorial Park Cemetery Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma, alongside Bob Berry.
